The primary aim of Captell CMC is to simplify capacity planning activities by identifying devices that are currently or may become capacity constrained. To meet this aim we provide the Baselining activity.
A Captell CMC Baseline is simply a collection of devices (usually all devices identified as part of the Load process), a start date and an end date (usually delineating a financial year period).
Baseline generation takes date immediately before the start date and generates trends that project through to the end date. Any metrics that are projected to breach defined thresholds are identified for further investigation.
Once a baseline has been generated the data for the baseline is stored allowing for comparison with future baselines. This provides a simple mechanism for tracking baseline progress.
